I thought it would be fun for all the artists to post the oldest piece of theirs that they can find.

these are the oldest pieces of mine that i have online. 

both of them were done probably between 2005- 2007. i used to paint and now i do mainly illustration.

i know if i dig thru some boxes i can find older work

anyone else care to show?

I did this when I was a kid.  I forgot the age.  But I might've been 11 or 12... maybe.

(if the date on the cover is correct)

I have even older stuff, when I was like 8, but my scanner is a doorstop, so I can't get it into the computer.

I have these because they were on Facebook.

My mother kept all my drawing since I was a child.

When I was a kid my friends and I would get together at school and make *books*.

We often sounded them out instead of adding text.  We all had a line of characters.

My characters were well known in my circle of friends.

But then... I decided to kill off my characters, the book was called, DEATH.

I even burned the edges to make it *evil*.  Hahah!

Later on when I was a teenager (around 15 to 18) I looked at a real comic book and tried to make something like that.  I only tried doing that for a few years.  Then I went my own way.

I have some comics I made as kid (I also killed off all my characters for a reboot around Crisis) and art I did in school, but I'd have to go to my father's house to get that stuff, so don't hold your breath.

@pjperez - Hah!  y'know... I never noticed that before.  Especially with the keyhole cutout on the chest.

I should see a psychiatrist.  Haha!

I've got the oldest comic I could find right on my site, albeit well hidden. Here's page 1:


As you can without a doubt tell from the artwork, it's a slapstick sprinting race, coming from a kid who was no more sports-savvy than I am now. Not sure when exactly this was, but it may have been inspired by the sports cartoons appearing around the soccer world cup in '78 which would make me about eight years old. I do remember that I felt very cutting-edge for making it practically dialogue-less and for reducing the cutters to the panel borders themselves. 'Cause the comics I knew at the time didn't do either.

@pjperez i try not to stick to too much of a style. i like to try different things cause i get bored easy. plus some ideas require differing styles. 

heres a picture i did around 2006 or 2007. found it while going thru some older stuff and it occurred to me, did i come close to developing an abraham lincoln vampire hunter?
