Have Something For Sale/Solicited? Tell Me About It...

edited December 2012 in Do The Work
I just realized that I completely failed to buy Shadowman #2 last week. I'm also missing the most recent issue of The Road Below and the first DHP issue to feature Amala's Blade.<div><br></div><div>So I'm wondering if people would use a thread (like this one) to stop in whenever they have something new for sale, whether it's available online or at a shop?</div><div><br></div><div>And I don't mean just comics, or just stuff that's available through Diamond. Sell prose books or crafts through Ebay, Etsy, Amazon, Big Cartel, or elsewhere? Tell me about it, please. </div><div><br></div><div>After all, the gifting season *is* upon us. </div><div><br></div><div><br></div>

  • There used to be a thread like that/this on the Engine, and I ended up buying a lot of stuff because of it, so... good idea.<div><br></div><div>It probably won't be as active as the Engine days when there were dozens of big four guys with stuff coming out every week. Most of us (even if big whatever) are working on sporadic shorts or long time in coming projects like GN's and or mini series or pitches. It's going to be a Justin/Brandon/Jimmie/Steve dominated thread in the weekly/monthly sense. But... I completely missed the news that the new Witchdoctor was out and stumbled across it last week at the shop in the "last months" rack at my local shop.</div><div><br></div><div>I can't keep up with every work log so I do miss the announcements of the new short stories, anthologies,  mini comics, prints, etc. Having it all in one thread would make life easier and possibly boost sales.</div><div><br></div><div>So yes... I vote for a "something for sale" thread.</div>
  • If anyone from here wants Reading With Pictures, Strawberry Shortcake, Omega Comics Presents, Batman Allies, sketch cards or other products from me for holiday gifts, email or pm me and I'll discount prices for SW users.
  • I have an online store page with all of my work available: http://trevoramueller.storenvy.com/<br><br>Discounts available for members on here. Just send me a PM on what you're interested in, and I'll put together a competitive package. <br>
  • Might it be better to have an 'official'  thread with a more specific title?  Might be a good idea to set some ground rules in an initial post to reduce potential spamming or misunderstandings<div><br></div><div>Perhaps tow?  One started anew each month: "On Sale Now, Month, Year"?  Another, more permanent thread could be called "Member Stores" -- though that might set some to giggling.</div><div><br></div><div>Just realised the latter might be best served by everyone who has an online shop to post that under their profile somehow -- not sure if that's an option.</div><div><br></div><div>Yeah, I do recall buying more than a few things because of the Engine.</div><div><br></div><div>~R</div><div><br></div><div><br></div>
  • This month I have:<br><br>Legend Of Luther Strode Issue One<br><br>Shadowman Issue Two<br><br>(Both out)<br><br>Deathstroke Issue Fifteen<br><br>Team Seven Issue Three<br><br>Which I think are out tomorrow.<br>

Kindle only, though print seems likely for 2013. It's about the record business, the devil, guitar heroes, the mafia and a bunch of other crazy shit like that. rumour is that it's funny, too. <div><br></div><div><a href="http://www.amazon.com/Sixsmiths-1-Jason-Franks/dp/1593622023/ref=la_B0042J31FG_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1355269064&sr=1-1">The Sixsmiths</a>, my SLG book about a family of devil worshippers with money problems, is still available on from amazon. I have published a number of anthologies featuring Sequential Workshop regulars like @RusselLissau, @JustinJordan, @ShawnRichison and @SteveHorton which are also available from Black Glass Press. • <blockquote rel="Jimmie_Robinson">This month for me:  Nothing.</blockquote>But you do have something solicited in this month's <i>Previews</i> catalog (<i>Five Weapons</i> #1), which is not that different (in the current Direct Market) from the month in which people can buy it... or fail to.  I ordered it today to make sure I'll get a copy in February.<br>

You guys are killing my wallet. And I'm glad. Keep 'em coming.<div><br></div><div>Good thing I'm starting to sell some <a href="http://updownstudio.storenvy.com/products/773773-love-is-in-the-blood-acquiesce-limited-1st-edition">Blood trades</a> from the Storenvy site finally. Numbering a limited amount seems to have worked.</div>

  • This isn't anything for sale,* but my gallery debut is tomorrow, at Mission: Comics & Art in San Francisco.  The show includes two finished pages from a story I wrote and illustrated, about my boyfriend (as Robin) and me (as Batman) cosplaying on a downtown roof, and some pages (I'm not sure how many) of original art from a story I wrote and illustrated by Rick Worley, about a Halloween party I went to in a Robin costume, and met a Batman.  Some of the pieces in the exhibit are charming and innocent(ish)... the rest are not. :)  The formal opening (I hear that free wine is involved) is Friday night, and the exhibit will be up for a month.  (There's been some talk of taking it on the road, possibly to LA.)<br><br>https://www.facebook.com/events/256018427860869/<br><br>*Yeah, yeah, I know: if I worked in traditional media I'd be able to sell originals like some of the other participants are doing.  But I also wouldn't have gotten this done in time.<br>
