Comics for Newtown: A proposal
Reprinted from my Facebook pages.
I've been numb since I
first heard of what happened in Connecticut. I woke up just now, in the
middle of the night, with an idea. I've reached out to the library
in Newtown to see if I can donate a stack of Strawberry Shortcake
comics that can be given to the siblings and survivors of the massacre.
If the answer is "yes," I hope you will join me.
Tim Sarrantonio, one of the Reading With Pictures board members and its grant writer, already has stepped up to be something of a clearinghouse/organizer, if the library director says yes. I'll keep you informed.
