Today I did everything except what I originally set out to do. I've gotten at least four pages thumbnailed for Isaac & Lee #10 (was not planning on that one at all). I did a Periscope test, along with a modded stand (which I'll be stuck with until I can buy a real stand). I did an inktober sketch, and I updated my desktop OS. (I'll update my laptop tomorrow)
I have a Brother MFC unit, @_Beth_Wagner_. I recommend looking for something a bit more upmarket. Bought if because I wanted an A3 scanner, but it's very glitchy--recommend you look for something better.
Still doing the finishing touches on the last page. Also was approached to redo an interview for a podcast because the file was corrupted and the interviewer's computer died.
Now to get to work on the admin/marketing/promotion/writing/editing end, which when I put it that way, doesn't sound like the vacation that I set it up in my mind to be...
@TrevorAMueller that sounds about right. My mother and father were there with my first child whose name (not a word of a lie) is Carol, short for Carolynne. (spelt differently than your daughter though)
I'm pretty bad at Doing The Work at the moment. Part of my excuse is that I'm in the clutches of social welfare right now and while that doesn't exactly keep me busy looking for paid gigs, it takes up exactly the energy I usually put into my art. Or at least that's my theory.
I do have a couple of pressing deadlines coming up, though. Those usually work.
I was trying to take a month off of artwork and creating so that I could focus more on business and then relaxing for the holidays. Instead I finished writing a script and almost finished the thumbnails for two different books. The marketing and promotions? Not so much.
Been busy writing an article for the upcoming issue of mo:no, a magazine I co-publish. About getting back to working on funny things in the aftermath of any random political event that makes one not want to laugh much at all. Finished the first draft tonight. It's way too long, of course, but it's a start.
Also been working on a colored version of this Inktober sketch for the mo:no cover (the theme, btw, is politics and the apocalypse) as well as an additional cartoon.
Over the last week, I've had art coming in for DINNER AT DANTE'S, BUSTED and TERROR FIRMA, three self-published comics planned for 2017. It feels wonderful. Two of these projects have been in limbo for ages and I thought were dead. And then there's DANTE'S which is one of the most fun things I've worked on in years.
So I'm proofing art, suggesting minor changes, adjusting dialogue to fit the art, etc.
