I've been away from the forum (and from writing) for about a year.... but I'm back. Actually, I've been writing for a couple months now, but it's time to start posting here about progress. Today I:
*Sent emails to artists whom I'm hoping will want to work on RUBICON with me. *Made substantial changes to the second chapter of RUBICON. When the original artist turned in pages 11 and 12, I realized the two characters were doing nothing but talking and looking wistfully at each other and the environment. Totally a problem in the script, not what she drew. And I couldn't ask her to redraw the pages. But now that she's off the book and the second chapter will be drawn by someone else, I revised the script so the characters in question are now at a picnic. As they talk, they remove things from a basket, open a wine bottle, pour wine, etc. VISUAL ACTION! I'm very pleased with that. *I also reached out to two of the people who purchased naming rights for RUBICON and informed them of the personnel change, and I offered them refunds. They refused and remain patrons of the project. Love those guys.
Finally finished this chapter of Albert the Alien I had been working on during all my trips over seas. Now i get to focus on bringing it home, and finishing the last two chapters in this volume! Then we do a Kickstarter (early next year)!
My Doing The Work got cut short last week when the bank informed me I've basically run out of money three months early (or, more to the point, they lost it), so I had to set myself up for welfare, fix my portfolio faster than I'd planned and start looking into get-rich-quick schemes, I mean jobs.
That said, I did start mapping out some of the upcoming Conny Van Ehlsing season and write a few cartoons and shorts. Also, been cleaning up my blog and stuff like that.
I mostly finished up the JAQrabbit pin-up that I'll be posting on Oct 31, which means I'm set with everything that's due in October. So now I have the coming month set aside to work on my Creators-for-Creators grant project.
@RussellLissau and I are collaborating on his short story BUSTED, which is a very fun little sci-fi script. I'm on page 3 of the pencils, but it's slow going, because pencilling with a newborn on one arm is more difficult than I had anticipated! lol!
Exhibited At Geek'd Con in Illinois this weekend and exceeded my modest sales goal. While there, met with an artist who is illustrating one of the four self published pieces I have planned for 2017. Got business out of the way, set up a schedule, etc. it's looking good for our story, TERROR FIRMA.
Thanks, @Owen_Jones. The original title, TERROR OVER TEPLINSKY-91, would have been great on the title page of the story when I originally pitched it to Dark Horse for one of its anthologies. Very 1950s.
Did pretty much a complete rewrite of the script, salvaging some bits here and there from the previous one. Still needs work, but I can work with this.

A good day.
Is that all?
Yes, I suppose it was.
It'll do.

@MaxVaehling Eek. :-O "They lost it"?
On the 'Do The Work' side, I made a comic about it.
Instead, I made my first-ever Inktober drawing and signed up for a webcomics Halloween special like we've done last year.
